Driving on the right in Motown USA

Well, close to Motown (Detroit, Michigan) anyway.

I have one of the 230 right-hand drive Alaskan Postal Scramblers built for the US postal service in 1984 for use in Alaska (they needed 4wd vehicles and all the "postal Jeep" DJs were 2wd). These used the same World Cab van top that came on your Overlanders (which most US Scrambler owners drool over )

I bought it in Anchorage not running, fixed it up over 10 days and drove it back across the country (5344.5 miles) with my brother and all his gear in the back. I wrote some reports and took pictures along the way for Rockcrawler.com (site has since broken) so I reposted them all here:

You can see the different posts by clicking on the dots on the map in the upper left.

Here's a couple of my favorite pics from the trek home:

The first time it moved under my ownership. We worked for two days in the side lot at the seller's shop to get it running (turned out it was a bad NSS) and then swapped fluids and other small things before driving it to my brother's place:

Needless to say, it doesn't look like those pictures anymore. Here's where it currently sits:
