If not remove your front air dam and get some Maxx Traxx or Treds and you’ll be fine. Maybe a appropriate snatch strap and shackles just in case you need to pull someone out.

I did some sand work when I still had the original Kumhos on and they were fine. I’ve now got Nitto Terra Grapplers on the 20”s.
    Hey Galvo,
Nah no quadra lift - didnt hear great reviews from others with it so stayed away from it. Have you got it on yours?

Whats the damage on the grapplers? I've been quoted $350 a corner for cooper at3's.

We stayed at king fisher resort, which was good, but the downside is it takes a while to get from there to the eastern beach.

It's a great family trip, my kids keep hassling me to go back.

If anything I think the Kumhos would be better on soft sand than the AT3s.

Yes I’ve got Quadra lift – it came standard on my 2012 Overland and has never given me any grief. The Nitto’s cost me $410 each and were apparently on sale! I also looked at Cooper Zeon LTZ’s but they were 275/55/20 and I didn’t want to stray away from original size – they were $400 each. A mate has the Zeon’s on his X5 and loves them but that car never see’s off road – only snow.

To add to what Benn0 said – the Kumhos will be fine if you’ve still got some tread. I got 45k out of them and they probably had 5k left but I wanted the Nitto’s on for a snow trip last weekend.

          Mark,
My experience with fraser is stay at Cathederal beach or Happy Valley as both places are centrally located. You should only need standard tyres as they will perform better on soft sand than AT type. You will need to remove the front air dam for clearance but that exposes the radiator and washer bottle.Chief products are working on a guard for when you remove the air dam to offer protection for these. Lastly you will need a replacement bash plate for the front to protect the power steering hoses as the plastic one does not cut the mustard when you nose dive into soft sand as I did with my old WH GC and that had a 40mm lift kit. You can get these from Uneek or Chief products, definitely worth the money.
I have a MY14 Laredo with air suspension and absolutely love it, on the sand and road it offers the smoothest ride I have ever experienced.

Agreed, that is a common one to get ripped out by dragging on the sand.

Thanks Mikey - are you talking about the sump protection plate?

Yeah got plenty left of the Kumhos so thats not a problem.
Thinking if a second set of 18"s would be better on the sand with deflation etc?
