Something like this raises my eyebrows - are these cables spliced in? I know my power outlet gets power even with the keys out - aftermarket accessories have been the source of my gremlins once or twice.

Can also pull some accessory fuses to see if something gets you results.
It woulda been cheaper to set a year's salary on fire in the driveway & just left seat with friends

Check the wires in the front door jamb, both sides. It would be the third case of drained battery because of broken door jamb wires I know about.

Thanks for all the replies so far. I checked all lights and so on.
No indicator that anything is draining the battery. My glove box does not even have a light so there is no problem there I suppose.

Will have a a look at the door wiring as Adrian mentioned but also ordered a mutlimeter to check step by step what is really causing my problem. As always youtube is your friend.

I wish Ebay would also offer a car-fix-buddy which you can order to help in certain situations like this... or if you want to bleed your brakes. I have to rely on my wife which does not make her very much happy.

This happened to me until I realised that, as others have pointed out, when I turned the key off it was going all the way to ACC and drained the batter overnight.

The barrel was so old on mine that there was no resistance from OFF to ACC. So whenever you just turned the key off you were actually in ACC.

Drove me around the bend. When I stopped the car I always made sure the radio was on. So if I went to ACC the radio would be on and I knew I'd gone too far and would turn it back until the radio went off.

I've just replaced the ECU/SKIM and barrel so that's solved that problem.

Of course now I have another one as per my thread.

I have the same issue on my jeep, i think i have narrowed it down to either the glove box or the rear door/window not locking right for some reason.

In my case, it was the under bonnet light.

I can do that if I have not opened any door. Once I open the door this stops working and I have to turn the ignition on again.
