Default Leather Dash Wrinkles - Warranty Fix Available

Hi Gang

Just read this on the Jeep Garage forum - but might be a US thing:

--------------------------------------
Jeep just released a warranty bulletin today related to the leather dashboards on our trucks. It covers model years 2011-2014. Per this bulletin, they can replace the dashboard (leather and upper carrier) under warranty after inspecting it.

Here's the catch............

The warranty coverage is good for 6 months from the date that the bulletin is issued. It was issued TODAY (18/12/2019), meaning that it needs to be looked at BEFORE June 18th!!!

Don't snooze on this!!!! My saddle colored dash is driving me nuts! Now there seems to be an avenue to get it fixed.

Call your dealer with your VIN# to see if it's covered. In the dealer's Warranty Coverage Area, it would need to show "X81" to be covered.

There have been a couple of AJOR members In Aust who have had the crinkling leather dashes replaced under warranty a couple of years ago.Apparently not real leather anyway !I would go and lay a complaint with your nearest dealer and take it from there.Funny my 2012 GC Overland has not had any problems.

I've got this issue with my jeep. Rang local dealer he was like no not covered and he will check with his boss. Is it worth just going straight to FCA and make a complaint? Bit stiff if recall notice for North America but not export market?

My 2014 GC Overland wrinkled as well... but fixed it by fitting this dash mat.
Very happy with the fit and it has stay put for 8 months now.

I know this doesn’t fix something that has already happened, but the first thing I do with all my cars is purchase a good quality fitted dash mat to keep the UV off. If purchasing online, make sure it is for RHD.....

Mine has a dash protector on the dash. However I bought the car second hand recently but the dash protector is also wavy due to the dash lifting. I'll attach a photo tonight.

I only noticed the other day when looking at getting a new dash protector.

Got any other ideas? would it be worth trying to stretch it back and just chuck a new dash protector on. I don't really care if I can make it flat and less noticeable with a new protector on there
