well After they done the bearings in the front diff
        the noise is still there
So I have the car back for the weekend now and it's goinng back on monday
I made the suggestion could the front drive shaft be faulty (as I have herd It's
        a common problem)
The suggestion seems to have fallen by the way side
so I get under it when I get home to find the there is a little
play in the front shaft on the transfer case end the seal is torn and missing
and it seems pretty dry under there
        Could this be my problem

          hmm..

My rear diff is getting rebuilt under warranty, now there's a whirring sound, but need to get some cash for 4.56 first!! ARGH!!! My warranty runs out in October!! Need $$ Fast!!

I think they must have used sub standard diffs for the end of the century.. Maybe Y2K fears??.. Hmmm

Mine has this too.... and it's a 2003! I get about a 1.5mm side play when I wrench it all about. I did mention this to the dealer, but they worked on the diffs instead. Their prerogative I suppose. The noise went away..... but I still have that sloppy front shaft - so it may not be related at all (in my case anyway).
