What was the fuel economy before? What you're getting is about right (if that's combined city/hwy). If it was better, then you have another issue; as you took out the old battery the computer has reset itself. S, you'll have to keep on driving till it relearns itself. Then it should be back to normal.

Wow 18 is pretty high combined. I am in Sydney with the grand V8 and the worst I get combined is 14.5l/100 with 90% city driving. As Briteway said it could be just the adaptive numerator within the ECM that is relearning the fuel trim strategy, if you have just done your fixes (it usually takes about 100kms before it right).
If not then what has the service history been like on the car ?
*Have you cleaned the throttle body and idle valve ?
*What is the air cleaner like when was it changed ?
*What is the condition of the fuel filter & has this been changed ?
*Are you using the correct weight of oil ? Thicker oil = > consumption ?
*Spark plugs ? Condition
*Fuel injectors ? Have these been cleaned.
*Air leaks within the vacuum system ?
*Have you changed the o2 sensors ?
*At idle does the car smell like it is running rich ?
*Does the car feel the same ??

When I had my WG 18-20 was normal in combined city/hwy but then again, it's in Sydney during peak hours, LOL. The same is now with my WH 5.7L.
Hornet05, check this post out, another member just posted it in another thread: http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...9&postcount=36Last edited by briteway; 17-09-2012, 06:46 PM.

Another option is LPG - much cheaper to fill although economy is worse.Want to buy a 650 HP Shelby Mustang? PM me!

Highway only I can get this down to 14.5 - 15 L/100km ?
Unfortunatley I'm a bit of a pedal jockey ?
On "your" hwy only, how long do you travel? With the distance it gets better. When I do a 150km trip, I'll get around 14.5L, On a 300km trip 13L and 900km (Syd-Bri) 11.8L and that was on E10. I'm yet to find out how I go with 95 RON.
Yeah, I'm a bit of a "can't help myself" person too when I know what power I have available. At that time I completely forget about fuel.
