Fortunately the bearing is easy to replace on the idler pulley. From memory there's a part number on the everything CRD thread. CBC have stocked them in the past, thery're getting expensive though. Last time I purchased one I decided to buy a spare.

This is origin bearing: KOYO DAC355222RR90 d35xD52x22

And this is the bearing what you can buy:

        35BG52222DL
Major Branded Rubber Sealed Air Conditioner
Double Row Deep Groove Ball Bearing 35x52x22mm
        Equivalent to: DAC355222RR90 080501
A GREETING FROM THE GRUMPY OLD GRANNYGUSTE

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine!

Thanks. I missed the part number embedded in the idler section.

New bearing is in. The old one had a "gritty" feel to it - consistent with being noisy. Easy job, except...

When I was tapping off the pulley (using a 16oz hammer and a block of softwood) I must have got it a little kicked over. The front of the hub came off with the pulley - breaking at the circlip groove.

This means i cannot put the circlip back because there is no groove for it. I have used Loctite bearing retainer on it. It seems okay so far. Any thoughts, folks?

            (There's ALWAYS something!)

EDIT: The bearing was NSK 35BD5222T1XDDUM2CG01 - $33 inc GST from Statewide Bearings (usually $38 - I got mates rates through work contacts)

Okay - back to the gearbox...

I had a crack at changing the conductor plate this afternoon. The ten Torx bolts that hold it on were stupidly tight - way more than the prescribed 8Nm. So much so that one of them rounded in the head and I was unable to get it out. Damn previous owner!! Out of time, I have put it back together with a new filter and pan gasket (and fluid). T noticed the old pan gasket was very hard, and the fluid level was high. I took out a little over 4 litres and only put 3.5 L back in.

Hopefully the right fluid level and the new gasket might solve the weep while I think about how to remove the rounded bolt (and get a replacement handy).

Anybody know the MB part number?

EDIT: Mopar part is 05073877AA but I'd like to find the MB part number.

I've got some cross references and I can't find a match for that part number.
