    Wk2 rattle noise.

Ok been on the road for a month now.
Getting a rattle noise from dash area.
Conflicting opinions from both front seat occupants. Noise appears to be coming from opposite side to where you sit. A thing over 70 kms and gets louder with speed.
AC on or off does not matter.
Noise does not always present immediately but it is becoming increasingly a pain in the butt.
Personally believe it emanates from vents, which might explain why we are all hearing it from different locations.

Any ideas on what is causing the problem would be appreciated.

Had the same rattle. Even my son with young ears couldn't hear it.
Found it when he opened the sun glass holder and put them on.........no more rattles!!!!!

        Cheers, Craig

I have one L/H side top of dash. Appears to be plastic vent panel. Comes and goes maybe temp related. Rolled a tea towel up and wedged it between windscreen and panel noise goes. Might try silicon spray next...

First place I checked no glasses stored

            Thanks folks.

First thing I checked as the wife usually stores her sunnies there.

No glasses stored there and noise is consistently problematic.

Will keep at it. In Broome presently heading to Perth then back to TASSIE, might find it by then if not the dealer can have a go.

            Cheers

Originally wife said she thought it was coming from rhs top of dash vent.... Reckoned when she placed pressure with hand on top of dash it disappeared but now she hears it elsewhere and pressure on dash does not eleviate condition.

It certainly is periodic and may well be as I mentioned something to do with dash vents ducting and temperature dependant.

              Thanks

                Gday rocksfly
I have a bloody annoying rattle as well. Mine is the ambient light sensor in the middle of the top of the dash. When it happens, if I push down on it it stops rattling.
