Lift kit higher that 2” in Australia

Hi guys,

I’m wanting to get a lift but I’m only able to find 2”. I’ve found one place that have 3.5” and 4.5” but it’s rather pricey. Any ideas? Where have you all gotten yours from? Any help will be appreciated!

The US is the place but currently with such a low Aussie dollar the cost plus postage is exorbitant and freight ridiculously slow.

2" is the most you can legally go and be legal for roadworthy and Insurance in Australia without an engineers certificate

I think it’s pretty much all States. Slightly different regs ect... but all come back to pretty much 50mm or there abouts. Lots of people go higher of course, but pretty risky if you’re using it on the road.

Even tyre height can be part of the considered "lifted" over all height!
Plenty of options in springs to get you 2"s above stock.
Think (?) The sports extreme model came out factory spec an inch higher that basic models.
To get diff/ground clearance...
Larger wheels tyres height is the best answer if possible.
1ft lift in springs....
Your diff is still the same height off the road...

Rear is easy. Add/replace leafs from a xa/b/c falcon. Front go for your standard 2" & then use spacers.

You want a 3" lift in an XJ as they are all measured from the std height of the Limited which is 1" lower than the Up country suspension that was fitted to the Sport is Australia. Talk to Poly 4x4 in Vic, they source a 3 inch leaf pack locally and supply 3" front springs to match. You are then only 2" above the highest factory supplied suspension. You will also need an adjustable panhard rod, longer swaybar links, longer shocks and at least a transfer case drop kit for it to work nicely. Had this exact set up on my previous XJ for over 150,000km and it was perfect. Also had 30x9.5 r15 Maxxis Bighorn muddies and a different speedo gear to correct the seedo. The 96 on the left that I sold in 2016 has the above set up.
