What I found in the old auto transmission pan. Got no idea what this is or could be or where it came from.

Looks like a plug, to plug up an oil gallery.
Could be to redirect oil though certain (critical) parts of the tranny....

Certainly looks like one of those, the plug , not the coin

Anyway out with the old and in with the new.

that looks like the spacer from the bottom of the filter... it keeps the filter off the bottom of the pan. Lucky find with the coin... they probably used it to fill a small gap to hold the filter up.

Certainly shouldn't have been something in the pan, looks like what was causing the problem, that new transmission looks sexy.
