    From the US owners manual.

    WARNING!
If the gross trailer weight is 3,500 lbs (1 587 kg) or
more, it is mandatory to use a weight-distributing
hitch to ensure stable handling of your vehicle. If
you use a standard weight-carrying hitch, you could
lose control of your vehicle and cause a collision.

      Thanks Deserthucker,
      Good to know.
I will be towing a 3 tonne van with a tongue weight of 300kg, well within the safe parameters of the GC. I do find it strange that a WDH is required when apparently the GC will level itself. Some manufacturers with air bags say that if you use WDH you will void a warranty. I would prefer to use WDH just to take a bit of the pressure off the back wheels and the airbags.

WHD does more than level your load. helps stop sway and rotation over the trailer wheels.

            Hi Ballypinball,

Well to tell the truth it does have med burl wood which in my opinion suits me better. I saw the two (in a photo) and I think the dark burl wood would have made the interior too dark.

              Spoke to Jeep today

My car arrives on June 6th on a shipped called the territory.

They tell me it will be ready to collect within 10 days after that at the dealership.

The car is fully speced with this different wood as being the only modification.
I believe it is different to the Grand wood, but the guy i spoke to hasn't seen it yet.

Good news is my car was made march 1st the only inferno red coming to Melbourne as this color is now not available due to the japan situation.

Inferno red will be replaced with a color with pigment from another supplier.

No idea if there is or are any other inferno red overlands hitting any other states ordered at the same time.

any close up pics of the new wood anywhere?

I also thought the original one looked dark

Test drove my new Cherokee overland on the weekend. It did not have the black olive ash trim, BUT is a damn fine car. Unfortunately I cannot get hold of it until July. Mine is the Charcoal colour. We are already planning our first real trip in it, which I think will be to Deepwater national park in central Qld.
