NSW/Vic High Country May trip - the aftermath :)

So have we decided on a place for the pre trip talk? I hear a lot of support for South somewhere, I think Suburban is too far south as it is

But I'm willing to concede to the majority and make the effort. 15th was mentioned, thats fine with me.

*** A BIG CHANGE OF PLANS ***

I just called Tom Groggin Station to get an update on the river condition. I was told to call the Omeo NPWS office to hear some bad news. I did. Here it is:

NPWS (NRE) has ALREADY CLOSED OFF ACCESS TO THE DAVIES PLAIN TRAIL A MONTH EARLY.

These people have their own rules - and have decided that they don't want to have to maintain the track at the moment, so they have closed the track a whole month early. It is normally closed from the June Long Weekend until the October Long Weekend. Now it is closed from May the 1st right up until DECEMBER!!!!!!!!!!

$HIT!!!!!!!!!!

DON"T WORRY THOUGH. I am planning to do other tracks like the Mt Pinnibar Track and the Cascade Trail.

I'll keep yopu informed. I'm still a go, as I haven't seen these trails before, and they are apparently pretty near as good as the Davies Plain Trail anyway.

We are trying to set up a meeting on Saturday the 15th of May at either Northies (Cronulla Beach) of somewhere in Sylvania at 12:00 midday.

Any chance of moving this meeting to either Saturday night, or Sunday afternoon? I found out this weekend that I've got firefighting commitments on Saturday.

If it causes too much hassle, don't worry about changing it.
