    Outback first timers

Although most of us here are seasoned when it comes to outback travel, touring, rock crawling etc, I can still remember my first trip in my new XJ Cherokee where I crossed the Nullabor to head for Perth along WA's southern coastline. I knew very little about off roading, recovery, avoiding common pitfalls etc. My bad was the 40psi tyre pressures on the sand! I also had no air compressor.

Covid 19 has become an unfortunate part of our lives now, but it is great to see and read about more people exploring the outback. I thought I would post this link for newbies. It is linked to other related stories.

Whether it's just a quick weekend trip to head out and explore or a year of freedom to see the country, more Australians are opting for road trips instead of international travel. Knowing what to expect is a crucial part of planning.
