Don't think I would like a 0W40 in my oil burner and from what I can tell Castrol Edge Diesel 0w40 is a B4 oil and not any good for DPF Soot Ovens at all......you need a C3 Spec or higher.

Note at bottom of specs on the Autobarn page: * Excludes diesel passenger vehicles fitted with Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF).

Repco has it for $109 5 litre same thing, might get a couple tomorrow while on special
I am a little bit dubious of the "0 weight"
It would be fast flowing on a cold engine

This is not the recommended Castrol oil for the WK2 diesel.Magnatec DX 5w40 is
ok. 0w40 Might be ok if up in the snowfields all winter. At the other end Penrites oil tech said he would be using 10w 50 if towing in Australians hot summer. Taking into account diesel dilution ,heat etc.

Now that is very strange as the Castrol site says it is a B4 and the data sheets say the same with only a 5W30 LL being a C3, very strange, yet you can find a data sheet from 2014 saying its C3 but not now..... be very sure as a B4 will stuff the soot oven.

Looking at the autobarn page they have 2 different set of pics and the speb write up is for B4 https://www.autobarn.com.au/castrol-...ne-oil-3374687 with the warnin not for DPf............????????????

Castrol in the past have been known to bend the truth re advertising full synthetic oils that were blends etc. I would definately be contacting Castrol re those contradicting data sheets.Mind you Penrite ,Castrol only around three years ago said ATF 4 the the correct oil for 2005-10 WH transfercase.Totally wrong fluid.! Buggered transfercases a result.Mobil 424 hydraulic fluid is correct oil.

So I'm wondering how many rigs have had dodgy oil out in them from servicing places, either Jeep or other, with all of these conflicting data sheets.
              I drive over stuff!!!!

The big problem is that many vehicle manufacturers will not share eg oil spec /fluid details with the oil suppliers /manufacturers etc.Thats why many vms have their own branded oils, fluids. They make more money.Companies like Penrite get a lot of their spec info etc from a couple of companies in the world who specialise in giving such info.Just because an oil does not say on the container recommended by MB,Chrysler etc does not mean it doesnt meet their specs.Companies like Penrite have to pay to put these Ok specs on their containers like the heart tick fisaco here a couple of years ago.You pay the money you get the tick! So one year an oil might have the ok tick a couple of years time it wont. Not to say oil companies worldwide have not made mistakes re what oil /fluid is correct for vehicles.I had to tell Penrite Few years ago the coolant they were recommending for 2011-12WK diesels was wrong.Hoat not Oat!
